When the entire country was chewing on their nails at the loss of 3 wickets in the World Cup Semi Final between India and New Zealand, Sister Nivedita University took it’s first step in Cricket.
SNU Cricket Academy was inaugurated in the University Campus on this very day. An hour’s program was fun filled with students of the University in white sports gear. The Academy was inaugurated by Mr. Sambaran Banerjee, former Bengal Cricketer & Ranji Trophy winner. Mr. Satyam Roychowdhury, Founder and Managing Director, Techno India Group and Chancellor of SNU greeted the Guest of Honour in the presence of students, faculty members and other staff members of the University.
It was a day for the students as the Chancellor himself took to batting first, while the veteran cricketer himself was seen at the wickets. The crowd cheered joyfully and the cameras went on clicking and capturing the moments, making memories. Who knows, someday, students from this Academy might be seen in the World Cup. All the very best to them.
