The Innovative Educator

Education is evolving fast. Being in the education industry for more than three decades, I have learnt minute details about how education has evolved, and I believe everyone stands just steps away from being the innovative educator. Each of us, is actually the change that we want to see, and it is a lot like the rainbow gasoline bubbles that float out of the dispenser – you don’t notice the change until the change is big. But I believe in a smaller part of this story, which is actually the larger force behind the whole thing happening. I believe in the air one exhales into the dispenser for the bubbles to come out. That’s the real force.

Firstly, I would like to write about the professional innovative educators. Every day, we hear about some new technology that will change the world and the way we learn in it. When teachers work together to solve problems and share the successes of the output, students perform much better in the classroom. An innovative educator is always exploring topics with other educators, sharing what they know with others. In today's digital era of robotics and artificial intelligence, education becomes even more important for developing the next generation of innovators and creative thinkers – it ignites the passion for learning and provides students with the tools they need to succeed in the innovation economy.

Now, I will talk about the mass innovative educators. That is, our students. Think, if there is a school of innovation – with a special curriculum exclusively designed, to transform teaching and learning, and defines innovation as a new or creative alternative to the existing instructional and administrative practices. Every student is an innovator, and an educator, who has the power to change a system with a mind so fresh and energetic.

So aptly Steve Jobs defined – “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”
