BNCCI Delegates Paved the Way for Business Summit
The Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industries delegation has showcased Bengal in Spain, and the discussions have paved the way for joint ventures in the near future and several Bengal-Spain collaborations in various fields. BNCCI has successfully set the platform for the upcoming Bengal Global Business Summit. The fruitful discussions with the several chambers of commerce of Spain and several multinational companies have revealed several prospects of investment opportunities in West Bengal, especially in the arenas of football, tourism and education.
The delegation included the President of BNCCI Bani Roychowdhury, Vice President Satyam Roychowdhury, Chairman of the Public Relations Standing Committee Ritwik Das and others. They met the La Liga and Real Madrid officials for the development of football in Bengal. West Bengal’s success in hosting the FIFA Under-17 World Cup 2017 proved as a boon for these meetings.
“Representatives of the Spanish tourism sector have accepted our invitation to come to Kolkata on 13th November to meet West Bengal Tourism Minister and the members of different chambers of commerce. We hope this will lead to a major breakthrough,” informed Satyam Roychowdhury.
The delegation from West Bengal is overwhelmed by the interest shown by the business community of Spain, especially Mr. Pepe, the Sales Manager of CEOE, the front ranking industry house of Spain. “Avenues have opened up for joint ventures in Education, Real Estate and Fruit Processing”, said Ritwik Das.
The greatest achievement of this tour has been the immense appreciation the BNCCI delegates have received for Kanyashree, the flagship project of Mamata Banerjee, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal. The audio visual presentation on Kanyashree got huge acclaim at the networking meeting convened by the Indian Ambassador to Spain Mr. D.B. Venkatesh Varma. The business delegates from Spanish MNCs present there also appreciated the presentation by BNCCI on Bengal Global Business Summit and expressed their interest for participation.
The BNCCI delegation is just back to Kolkata and will engage themselves in mobilizing both Government and private enterprises for strengthening Indo-Spanish business ties.
