Being the Chairman of AAJKAAL, it was a real pleasure to support the cause of presenting the finest form of Indian Culture and heritage. It was indeed great happiness for me to celebrate the event "PARAMPARA - In Quest of Excellence" - an evening of Indian classical dance forms and rhythmic melody held on 14th of October, 2015, at Satyajit Ray Auditorium, ICCR . Smt. Kusuma Ranjitha Vivin, who is an eminent classical dancer of Bharatnatyam has enthralled the audience with her mesmerizing performance. She has performed Bharatnatyam in Mysore style on this programme. Just before the Durga Puja, Ranjhita very aptly has chosen Shivastuti by which the audiences were treated wonderfully in the evening of Devi Paksha.
Quite a number of eminent personalities and dignitaries were present there. Shri Kesharinath Tripathi, Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal was the Guest-in-chief, and Hon'ble justice Altamas Kabir , former Chief Justice of India was present as the Guest-of-Honour at this programme. Dr. Manjula Chellur , Hon'ble Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court , also graced the programme.
I always have an inclination towards restoring Indian art and culture. I believe these should be valued in education institutions as an essential component to the curriculum. I have encouraged all my institutions to engage students in such kind of activities and events, which will make them an able all rounder.
Actually just one month ago, 5th September I have launched a book name "Pupils' President - APJ Abdul KALAM", this is also a complete compilation on Dr. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam but in English.
On this occasion it was an immense pleasure for me to felicitate five dance maestros who have carried forward the legacy of Indian classical dance form. They have trained and mentored thousands of students across the world. The eminent exponents were Ms. Alokananda Roy, Mrs. Sutapa Talukder, Mrs. Tanusree Shankar, Mr. Asimbandhu Bandyopadhyay, and Mrs. Dona Ganguly , who have mapped new directions in classical dance by creating socially relevant compositions that derive inspiration from diverse themes.
