Bengal Celebrity League is a non-professional men's cricket league , which is a brainchild of actor Jishu Sengupta .BCL is being played in T-20 format , at Kishore Bharati Krirangan, Santoshpur, having 6 teams, each comprising of 15 players out of which 10 players are actors and 5 players are comprising of technicians, the playing 11 , having 8 actors and 3 technicians.

The team owners are some of the biggest name from the film industry. which includes Dev (Midnapore Mighties), Shoojit Sircar (Hooghly Heroes),Arijit Dutta (Jalpaiguri Royals), Shyam Sundar Dey & Pramod Lundia (Birbhum Bravehearts), Kaustav Roy ( Burdwan Blasters) and last but not the least The none other than Purulia Panthers owned by me and Prosenjit Chatterjee.

On 26th December, 2015 the tournament had grand opening ceremony. Ace cricketer Sourav Ganguly, Arup Biswas Hon'ble Minister-In-Charge,Department Of Housing and Youth Services, Legedary actor Biswajit Chatterjee were present . A number of eminent personalities and dignitaries also graced the function.

For the first time ever the people of Bengal have witnessed a fight between their favorite Actors. The day night T20 tournament got off to a cracking start with the exciting match between Purulia Panthers and Midnapore Mighties.

Dev's team won by chasing the 169 posted by our Purulia Panthers.
