I felt the need of an abridged version of the four books of ‘For You’ series many months ago, and thus, had begun working on it. The individual books of the ‘For You’ series being phenomenally popular amongst young readers, the demands for a more handy and affordable edition were soaring for quite some time. So this was an initiative by Aajkaal Publishers to come out with a melange of the abridged versions of the soul-enriching four books. The abridgement has been named ‘A Bouquet’ because the four names – Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, Netaji and Sri Ramakrishna are like immortal flowers.

The inaugural ceremony was beautiful. On 25th January evening at the SBI auditorium inside the Milan Mela premises, the inauguration ceremony of the 40th International Kolkata Book Fair was held. The Chief Guest for the event was Smt. Mamata Banerjee, Honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal. Also present were Mr. Jorge Cardenas, His Excellency the Ambassador of Bolivia in India, and Mr. Ton Sinh Thanh, His Excellency the Ambassador of Vietnam in India, as Special Guest. Bolivia being the Theme Country, the inaugurator was celebrated Bolivian author Ms. Magela Baudoin. It was a special moment also because when my book was being released, veteran author Nimai Bhattacharya who was presented the Sahitya Samman award at the beginning of the ceremony by the Chief Minister, was on stage. I have read and admired his books all my life, and his presence was a blessing for me.
